Organizational
Communication
A Half-Day Intensive Workshop
Communication
is often thought to be a process to transfer or share information. But
this only involves moving data, in the form of words and numbers, from
one place or person to another.
Communication
between humans also contains many subtle messages, which simply cannot
be transmitted over an internet connection. In fact, much of direct
human communication is non-verbal.
Communication
in organizations often follows patterns that vary depending on culture,
structure and particular circumstances. Dysfunctional patterns can greatly
exacerbate problems. Learning to recognize functional versus destructive
patterns is an important skill for managers, team leaders and those
involved in resolving conflict. In fact, effective communication is
key to all conflict resolution strategies.
This workshop
explores communication on both the personal and organizational levels
and its effect on team effectiveness, accomplishing goals and resolving
conflict.
